Dutch Gold is one of the most iconic lagers in Ireland that has attained cult status particularly in Irish colleges since its launch in 1995. Dutch Gold is a 4.0% A.B.V. lager with a crisp, clean, fresh flavour. It is a good beer at a value for money price.
In 2014 Marketing Network were commissioned by Comans Wholesale to bring a more contemporary look to the brand. The shrink wrap was developed first. The “Dutch Gold Man” or sailor character holding a barrel much loved by Dutch Gold loyalists and an integral part of the brand livery since its launch, was given a more prominent position and plays a more dominant role in the brand configuration. The character was rendered in a different fashion utilising the Dutch Gold brand palatte of blue and the red bandana was retained to give the packaging more stand out on the shelf.
The Dutch Gold can has now also been contemporised and follows the new brand look as showcased on the shrink wrap. New in-store POS will amplify this new theme at point of purchase and will be seen in retail outlets this summer. This is the biggest re-design the Dutch Gold brand has seen since its launch in the mid 1990’s and is sure to give this much loved Irish Beer which has a unique place in Irish lore, a fresh impetus delivering sales growth in 2015 and beyond.
