Facebook has released an update to their News Feed preferences which allows users to dictate which Pages/Friends content they see first.
How does this affect my Business page, I hear you ask? Before this feature Facebook showed you the stories using an algorithm which tracked the Pages and People you interact with most, the content you like and comment on.

Now the user has the option to follow Pages and People that they may not have interacted with in the past, but also unfollow pages that they find uninteresting. Business pages have had a struggle in recent times with organic reach at an all time low 0%-6%.
This new feature will give businesses the power to ask their followers to rediscover their page. But how will their followers see this post? Facebook advertising is required for this part! To boost the reach of the request a business will need to use Facebook advertising.

What have Facebook missed?
At this moment a user can not search for pages to find one they would like to follow/unfollow. The constant scrolling can be frustrating and a user will lose interest if they are required to scroll to the bottom (if they have a large list of pages), search functionality is a must and we expect this feature in the near future.

Discover New Pages
This feature may help business pages gain new likes, that is if your page has content that a user may find interesting. Based on the types of Pages you’ve liked, discover new Pages helps a user find Pages to get more of the stories they care about.
